Sagging skin

Sagging skin can occur due to a number of reasons. For one thing, as we age we experience a loss of elastin and collagen, which are two important proteins for firm, taut skin. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun or tanning beds and environmental pollutants can also decrease these important elements, as can unhealthy lifestyle choices like making poor food decisions and drinking too much alcohol.

How it works

The procedure itself takes only about 30 minutes, during which time specialized InstaLift threads are inserted under the skin. Local anesthetic is used to prevent any discomfort.

The thread is self-anchoring and shaped like a cone, which allows it to lift the skin and hold it in place. Over time it will dissolve and be absorbed by the body, similar to surgical sutures. Before that happens, however, it encourages new collagen production in the skin, which helps maintain its tightness even after the thread is gone. Recovery is typically uneventful and requires almost no downtime.
